Bob’s Discount Furniture Uses Grand Opening of Rockville, Md. Store to Make a Charity

Bob’s Discount Furniture announced the opening of a new store in Rockville, Md., and hosted a grand opening. The new Rockville store was the third store opening in the D.C. metro area from Bob’s Furniture, and it added 103 jobs to the local economy.

The new Bob’s Discount Furniture is a 62,000-square-foot store located at the Montrose Crossing Shopping Center, 12011 Rockville Pike. The Rockville location is the flagship store and the company’s largest to date, with retail and clearance centers, and an area where customers can conveniently pick up their purchases.

Bob’s Discount Furniture now has numerous stores in many states (CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, MD, VA) and the company continues to bring its winning combination of great value and vast selection of fashionable furniture to new locations along the East Coast. In 2011, Bob’s also opened stores in Hyattsville, Md., and Falls Church, Va. Including the new Rockville location, the company is responsible for adding about 250 jobs to the D.C. metro area.

“We’re excited to celebrate the grand opening of our 43rd store in Rockville on Thursday, November 10th, which will join our Hyattsville and Falls Church stores in the D.C. area,” said company co-founder Bob Kaufman. “Our Rockville store will continue offering customers the value-based and quality home furnishings that we built our name on throughout the Northeast.”

To show its commitment to the Rockville community, Bob’s will use the grand opening event to present checks totaling $20,000 for 12 local schools as part of the company’s Outreach program. Bob Kaufman will be on hand for a ribbon cutting with local dignitaries and to meet attendees. Bob’s will also offer complimentary refreshments from the new store’s cafe. Nickelodeon cartoon characters SpongeBob SquarePants and Chuckie from Rugrats will be on site throughout the weekend, and other children’s entertainment will include clowns, balloons and face painting.
